2012 Nissan Leaf

With today's focus on environmental friendliness, Nissan proves that it is, in fact, easy being green. To add to the exemplary level of eco-friendliness, nearly 95 percent of all the components in the 2012 Nissan LEAF are recyclable.  This is the world's first all electric car.  While the range of the 2012 Nissan LEAF cannot match that of a conventional gasoline-powered hybrid, it can tackle the normal driving range that most people cover in a day, roughly 100 miles before needing to be recharged. Dave Harrison of Fred Beans Nissan of Doylestown loves zipping around in this car, and he would be thrilled to share his knowledge of this vehicle with you during a test drive of the demo model that currently resides at our Nissan dealership.
Nissan sold every one of the 20,000 2011 model of the Nissan LEAF before they ever hit  showrooms, but more are slated for 2012 production.Fred Beans Nissan of Doylestown has four on order, two to arrive in February and two to arrive in March.

The beautiful thing about the 2012 Nissan LEAF is that you never have to stop at a gas station again. The charge lasts for 100 miles, but there is an available "Quick Charge" feature which will charge 80% of the battery in less than 30 minutes. The 2012 Nissan LEAF comes fully loaded with everything from navigation to LED head/tail lights to regenerative braking, to Bluetooth  and USB port. It boasts 100% of the torque right off the line combined with zero tailpipe emissions.
Kelley Blue Book reviewers comment on the driving impressions of the Nissan LEAF, classifying the ride as unremarkable, but in a good way. Other than its electric motor, the 2012 Nissan LEAF rides and handles much like any other economy car. When loaded with passengers, the LEAF didn't struggle or strain as would a conventional 4-cylinder. The electric motor delivers a lot of torque, resulting in brisk acceleration. There is also an ECO mode which conserves energy but is not as potent.
Energized by a 24kWH lithium-ion-manganese-graphite battery pack mounted beneath its floor and warranted for eight years/100,000 miles, the LEAF's 80kw/107 horsepower motor/generator develops 206.5 pound-feet of torque from zero rpm. Sent to the front wheels via a single-speed reduction gear, it makes this 3,370 pound Nissan surprisingly quick off the line, takes it from 60 mph in about 10 seconds and lets it reach 90 mph.
While driving conditions and temperature extremes will impact real-world range, the ECO mode rolls back throttle response and steps up the regenerative braking effect that can help stretch its 100-mile change potential by roughly 10 percent. Nissan says that recharging will run $3 or less, and that unless the price of gasoline dips below $1.10 per gallon, the LEAF's "fuel" costs will be less than a conventional car that averages 25 miles to the gallon.
Come to Fred Beans Nissan in Doylestown and ask for Dave Harrison. Drive the demo model and fall in love. Be the first in the neighborhood to set the green standard with this innovative vehicle.
