The future of transportation is slated to get its start in the United Kingdom later this month with the arrival of a modified autonomous version of the Nissan Leaf. This self driving car should make waves across the world as we reexamine what's the safest and most effective form of travelling in an era where technology reigns supreme. The Qashqai, which is what the modified Leaf is called, must first gain the approval of one last local authority before it begins series of tests where passengers will be escorted along routes. If everything goes smoothly, the new Nissan Autonomous vehicles should be available for commercial use around the year 2020.
The Autonomous Leaf uses a suite of radar, laser and camera systems to navigate, named Nissan Intelligent Mobility. The United Kingdom is eager to be on the forefront of this technological advancement in hopes that it will result in more requests to conduct such tests in the UK and thus make them a world leader in the development and testing of auto technology.
And while self driving vehicles are great options from getting from A to B, here at Fred Beans Nissan of Doylestown, we believe that nothing will come between consumers and the love of driving anytime soon!
